Published March 25, 2022 by

The Notorious B.I.G released his final studio album a little more than two weeks after being shot to death in Los Angeles. With a title like Life After Death, the release was huge and became an important milestone in rap history. Just five years earlier, he was featured in The Source’s Unsigned Hype section.

The double-disk album featured Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Mase, Puff Daddy, DJ Premier, The LOX, and a host of others. It was a number one album and went 11x platinum in the United States.
