Young Thug Premieres New Song at Summer Smash in First Performance Since Jail Release

Published July 8, 2025 by

Thugger teases unreleased collaboration with Ken Carson and brings out Travis Scott for explosive set

Young Thug made a triumphant return to the stage at Summer Smash on June 22, delivering his first live performance since being released from jail last year. The Atlanta rap star thrilled fans with a high-energy set that included hit songs, a surprise appearance from Travis Scott, and the debut of new material from his upcoming album Uy Scuti.

Thugger also introduced a new collaboration with rising star Ken Carson, referring to the track as “new shit” during their performance. Though the song’s title wasn’t shared, the crowd quickly latched onto its infectious hook: “My bitch, she bad / She stay stone cold / Where the diamonds at / She inside her nose.”

The moment marked a full-circle return for Young Thug, who was originally scheduled to perform at Summer Smash in 2022 before being arrested on RICO charges. Elliot Montanez of Lyrical Lemonade called the performance a “beautiful, full-circle moment” for both Thug and fans.

Thugger also made headlines recently by joking on Adin Ross’ Kick stream about quitting rap to become a full-time streamer. As for Uy Scuti, the release date remains unconfirmed despite Thug’s earlier promise of a June drop.
