Usher knew Bey from way back
Usher awed his fans last year when he revealed in an interview that he knew Beyoncé when she was around 12, and before Destiny’s Child came to existence. Recently speaking to Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay, the “Yeah” singer shared more details about how she knew Queen Bee.
“Daryl Simmons, he had a group by the name of The Dolls, and they came to Atlanta for the first time,” he said about a group that Beyoncé belonged to back then. “This is before Destiny’s Child became Destiny’s Child. I think I looked over them while they [were] doing something in the house; I had to watch over ’cause I was like the, you know, the authority ’cause I guess I was the teenager at the time.”
