Miami bass godfather Uncle Luke aka Luke Campbell was born in 1960. Real name Luther Roderick Campbell, he’s discovered The 2 Live Crew, the controversial rap group he became a member of that went all the way to the supreme court. He is a record producer, rapper, and media personality. He got his start promoting shows in Miami during the 1980s.
In addition to rapping, Luke has ventures ranging from promoting to adult entertainment. He is a father to multiple children and has starred in several films and reality shows. Many see his stance on free speech as more important than the music he made but either way, he helped defend the culture’s right to self-expression and he became a legend in the process.
