Travis Scott’s camp says rumored $5.5M Bugatti is a 2020 purchase

Published June 26, 2022 by

Travis Scott is being dragged for his alleged latest ride amid Astroworld Festival tragedy

Rumors broke earlier this week that Travis Scott had purchased a $5.5M Bugatti Veyron Chiron Super Sport, and the rapper is being dragged for it by families of Astrofest victims. On Sunday (June 26), TMZ reported that a rep for Scott says the said car was bought in 2020 before the Astrofest crisis and received a wide media coverage. The source added that the rumors are an attempt to put dirt on Scott’s name.

“This latest attempt to exploit Astroworld victims and gaslight the media and the public is a new low,’’ Scott’s rep said. ‘’The car referenced was purchased way back in 2020 (well before the tragic events at Astroworld), and covered widely by the media — including TMZ — at that time. Misrepresenting a two-year-old car purchase to make an unprovoked and unjustified attack on Travis Scott is nothing more than another desperate publicity stunt to try to falsely blame Travis and intentionally manipulate public opinion, which won’t work.”

Bob Hillard, the attorney for 9-year old Ezra Bount who died at the festival, said Scott’s alleged latest ride purchase doesn’t look good. He says Scott could’ve saved Ezra’s life if he spent half of the car price to bolster safety measures at the Astroworld Festival.
