Published March 3, 2022 by

When was Tone-Lōc born? Tone-Lōc was born on March 3.

Known for his hit records “Wild Thing” and “Funky Cold Medina” and his deep voice, rapper Tone-Lōc was born Anthony Terrell Smith on March 3, 1966, in Los Angeles. In addition to rap, he played a memorable role in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective opposite Jim Carey. More than live-action, his voice acting career has made his deep tone ubiquitous across animated projects including Bebe’s Kids, C Bear and Jamal, and others.

Tone-Lōc has a condition that causes seizures, thus he wears dark sunglasses to help prevent them. He’s collapsed on stage several times but continues to be a mainstay in old-school rap.
