The LOX album ‘Money, Power & Respect’ came out on January 13, 1998

Published January 13, 2022 by

Yonkers rap trio The LOX dropped their debut album Money, Power & Respect in January of 1998. The album features Lil Kim and the late DMX on the title track. The 21-track project (including interludes) was released by Bad Boy Records. The record “We’ll Always Love Big Poppa” is a tribute to the late great Notorious B.I.G.

The album charted at #3 on the Billboard 200. Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch trade bars over production from Dame Grease, Swizz Beatz, and D-Dot among others. The album would be their only Bad Boy release, as they switched to Ruff Ryders a few years after the release of Money, Power & Respect. Their name stands for “Living Off Xperience.”
