Rihanna says her album is not coming out amid her scheduled Super Bowl performance

RiRi draws a line between new music and Super Bowl performance

When Rihanna announced that she’ll be performing at the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show last month, many fans were optimistic that she’s preparing to bless the world with new music. That assumption is ‘’not true,” according to RiRi herself.

While recently talking to paparazzi, the iconic singer was asked if she “wouldn’t be doing Super Bowl” were it not for a new album on the way. “No no, that’s not true,” she answered during her Savage x Fenty Fashion Show Vol. 4.

“Super Bowl is one thing, new music is another thing. Do you hear that fans?” Rihanna added while busting into laughter. “Because I knew the second that I announced this, I said, ‘oh my God, they’re gonna think my album is coming, I need to get to work.’ But I do have new music coming out, but we’ll see.” She added that her new music will be “unrelated” to the Super Bowl show but will be “a special project.”

The 34-year old artist partnered with Marvel Studio last week for the Black Panther sequel soundtrack single, “Lift Me Up.” The song debuted at No. 2 on Hot 100 this week.
