Queen Latifah once managed OutKast, LL Cool J, and Naughty By Nature

Published October 29, 2019 by

At a point in the early stages of her career, Queen Latifah managed the careers of OutKast, LL Cool J, Naughty By Nature, FU-Schnickens, Monica, SWV, Faith, and many more under her company Flavor Unit Management.

Queen Latifah began as a member of New Jersey’s Flavor Unit, a crew of emcees and DJs which was led by Mark the 45 King, who produced Jay-Z’s Hard Knock Life, and Eminem’s Stan. After Flavor Unit ran into some trouble with Mark’s drug abuse, Queen Latifah and her partner Shakim Compere, who was also a member of Flavor Unit, took over the group and started Flavor Unit Management.
