Pete Rock made “In The Flesh” with The Notorious B.I.G. in the room

Published May 25, 2020 by

The Notorious B.I.G. was in the room when Pete Rock produced the “In The Flesh” from The Main Ingredient.

During a 2013 interview with The MC Report’s The Revival web series, Pete Rock revealed that Biggie came to his house one day and watched Pete make a beat. “Notorious came over, he’s in my basement and wanted to see how I make beats. Not knowing I would use that beat on the album… I ended up putting it on Pete Rock & CL Smooth’s second album, he was right there.” The beat would end up being “In The Flesh” on Pete Rock & CL Smooth’s second album, The Main Ingredient.

Pete Rock was an inspiration for one of Biggie’s biggest hits “Juicy” and he added to a remix version.
