Nipsey Hussle’s family mourns the death of rapper’s grandmother
Nipsey Hussle’s grandmother Margaret Boutte has passed away, Allhiphop reported on October 22. Boutte and Nipsey’s mother raised the late rapper along with his brother Blacc Sam.
During an interview with CBS2 in 2019 before he was tragically shot and killed, the Compton rapper recalled how his grandmother was good at keeping their family cohesive while raising them. “I was raised by my mom and grandma,” he said at the time. “She was real big on keeping a tight family and big on love.”
When Nipsey Hussle was awarded with his star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in August this year, Margaret Boutte gave an emotional speech about her late grandson. “He was the love of my life. Always very respectful. I miss him, but I look at his picture and remember all the wonderful times we had together,” she stated. “I thank my daughter for blessing me with Nipsey and Samuel, and Samantha. He will never be gone in my heart. He lives forever. Nipsey, I love you, I miss you.”
