Drizzy grabbed Weezy’s attention the first time they met
Lil Wayne signed Drake to Young Money/Cash Money in the late 2000s and the Toronto rapper quickly caught the attention of music fans worldwide. During a recent chit-chat on All The Smoke podcast, Wayne recalled how he met Drizzy, crediting J. Prince for introducing him to the Canadian superstar.
“My lil bro Jazz Prince, J Prince. He was rocking with uh, he had Drizzy. Brought him to me like, ‘You gotta hear this n***a.’” Wayne recounted. “And it was over for me once I had him. And I wasn’t even paying attention to the rapping sh*t. I was like, ‘He sings? This him in the hooks?’ Cause I thought it was someone else on the hook while the song was playing and sh*t. He’s like, ‘By the way, that’s him too.’ And I’m like, ‘This him too? Come on.’”
