Criticism surfaces amid Dame Dash’s mounting financial struggles
Lance “Un” Rivera, who once had a tense relationship with JAY-Z, has openly criticized the rap mogul for not financially supporting former Roc-A-Fella partner Dame Dash.
In an interview with The Art of Dialogue, Rivera said:
“JAY-Z, I hate to keep bringing your name up, but I think it’s some sucker shit… He’s not supposed to be in the situation that he’s in.”
He added:
“He has to know that Dame has helped him.”
Dame Dash has faced major financial issues, including a recent $4 million judgment to filmmaker Josh Webber over defamation claims linked to a 2024 podcast appearance. Webber alleges Dash made false claims about theft related to their dispute over the 2019 film Dear Frank. Dash previously lost a nearly $1 million lawsuit over copyright infringement and defamation with Webber. His one-third stake in Roc-A-Fella was auctioned off to cover debts like unpaid taxes and child support, yet creditors like Webber reportedly did not receive any payout.
The situation continues to fuel tension around Roc-A-Fella’s legacy and relationships between its founding figures.
