Kodak Black is planning to join Capitol Records after he parts with Atlantic

Florida rapper Kodak Black is leaving Atlantic to sign a new deal with Capitol Records. According to Billboard, Yak has only two releases left to fulfill his contractual obligations with Atlantic, to when he’ll move to Capitol.

Kodak Black signed with Atlantic in 2016 and made his debut release the following year with his first album, Painting Pictures. He has since dropped four albums under the Warner Music Group-owned label with the last being Back For Everything, released earlier this year.

Just last month, Orlando Wharton, who oversaw Yak signing to Atlantic, announced that he’s joining Capitol as the executive vp and Priority Records president and will start the job in 2023.

The 25-year old artist is gearing up to unleash his anticipated album, Kutthroat Bill Vol. 1, which drops October 28.
