Kanye West cut Pusha T’s “I Don’t Like” verse from 16 bars to 8 bars

Published May 4, 2020 by

Pusha T’s original verse for Kanye West‘s remix to Chief Keef‘s “I Don’t Like” feat. Chief Keef (obviously), Pusha T, Jadakiss & Big Sean, was actually 16 bars long but Kanye cut it down to 8 bars.

During a 2013 interview, Pusha-T revealed Kanye had changed the original 16 bar verse to an 8 bar verse.

“Even with the “I Don’t Like” verse. That verse is really 16 bars long. I think he edited it down to maybe eight or 10 bars. Ye — his edit is the one that everybody’s singing in the clubs for the whole summer. I look at him and I say, “You’re thinking for the betterment of the song.” Pusha T told A Tribe Called Quest’s Ali Shaheed Muhammad and NPR’s Frannie Kelley.
