Nas recorded “Legit” chorus with a single take

Nas and Hit-Boy reunited once more for their latest joint album, King’s Disease 3, which arrived on Friday (November 11). A fan on Twitter expressed his excitement for the record “Legit,” writing, “When the beat dropped I lost it @Hit_Boy omg.”

Hit-Boy came across the tweet and decided to shed more light on the making of the song, revealing that “Nas freestyles this hook first take.”

In the song, Nas shares how surprised he is about his life ascending from the bottom right to the pinnacle of hip-hop music. “On my soul, this for my kids and the cold shit I done did, All them O’s I tried to flip, who’d have thought I’d go legit?” the Queens rapper spits on the chorus. “Yeah, And the cold shit I done did (Uh-huh), Pretty girls who let me hit, who’d have thought I’d go legit? Yeah, And the cold shit that you did (That’s right), All them O’s you tried to flip, who’d have thought you’d go legit? (Oh!)”
