Gunna to be released from jail after taking plea deal

Published December 14, 2022 by

Gunna to become a free man again

Reports are circulating that Gunna is to be released from jail after pleading guilty to violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corruption Act. According to WSB-TV, Wunna accepted an Alford plea on Wednesday (December 14) that enabled him to take a plea deal while maintaining his innocence.

The rapper was handed a five-year suspended sentence, with one removed for time served, on a condition of 500 hours of community service. He is also not to carry a gun during his sentence. Violating these conditions might prompt the DA to revoke his sentence.

“While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way,” Gunna said in a statement.

“When I became affiliated with YSL in 2016, I did not consider it a ‘gang’; more like a group of people from metro Atlanta who had common interests and artistic aspirations,” he added. “My focus of YSL was entertainment – rap artists who wrote and performed music that exaggerated and ‘glorified’ urban life in the Black community. While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way.”
