Byron Dwayne “Guilty” Simpson was born in 1980 in Detroit, MI. Guilty Simpson’s music career began in 1996 and he went on to work with J Dilla, Madlib, and Black Milk. His work has been distributed by Duck Down and Stones Throw over his decades-long career.
He is a witty rhymer with an imposing voice crafted for punchline rap. His first album Ode to the Ghetto came out in 2008. At one point he formed a group called Random Axe with the late Sean Price and Black Milk. In 2020 he released LSD with Leonard Charles as the Leonard Simpson Duo.
