Def Jam hints at a new fighting game

Published August 11, 2020 by

Def Jam returning back to the video game console?

17 years ago, Def Jam Records joined forces with EA Sports to release a fighting game: Def Jam Vendetta. The game was available for the PlayStation 2 and GameCube console. The following year, Def Jam: Fight for NY would release, followed by Def Jam Fight for NY: The Takeover (2006) and Def Jam: Icon (2007).

“The streets saying we need a new Def Jam game,” tweeted the label, who isn’t incorrect. Twitter has put the fighting game on a pedestal with NBA Street, also byway of EA Sports BIG brand.

“Once our twitter hits 1M, we have a special announcement for y’all !,” they said in a follow-up tweet. Well, here we are — they’re at 1 million followers — so now we just wait on the news.
