Shante Scott Franklin was born in New Orleans in 1981 and goes by the stage name Curren$y. He is a well-known mixtape rapper that was signed to Young Money. He was part of the XXL Freshman Class in 2009 after leaving the label.
His Pilot Talk series arrived on his Jet Life label and he has dabbled in street fashion as well. He won a legal battle with Damon Dash in 2015 to the tune of $3 million for Dame releasing music without his permission. He released 12 mixtapes in the following year.
