Chance the Rapper’s album ‘Coloring Book’ was the first streaming-only album to win a Grammy

Published October 23, 2019 by

When Chance the Rapper released his album Coloring Book, it became the first streaming-only album to chart on the Billboard 200. The album peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200. Coloring Book wasn’t sold physically, the album was only available on streaming and still went on to win the 2017 Grammy for Best Rap Album at the 59th Grammy awards beating Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo, Drake’s Views, De La Soul’s And The Anonymous Nobody, Schoolboy Q’s Blank Face and DJ Khaled’s Major Key. Chance the Rapper also took home the Grammy for Best New Artist and Best Rap Performance with “No Problem” that night.
