Charlamagne Tha God Calls Out ‘Hypocrisy’ Over Trump Event Performances Critism

Radio host defends “Hot in Herre” rapper and “Doggfather” against backlash

Charlamagne Tha God is calling out fans who criticized Nelly, Snoop Dogg, and other artists for performing at Donald Trump’s recent inauguration events, arguing that their outrage is misplaced. Speaking on The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne pointed out that the same Democratic politicians who once warned of Trump’s alleged threats to democracy have now embraced him.

“The hypocrisy that people display in terms of who they like and don’t like is mind-blowing to me,” Charlamagne said. “There is no way you are more mad at rappers for performing at these inauguration events than you are at the elected officials who told us Trump was a fascist, a threat to democracy, a danger to our country and the constitution.”

He highlighted moments like President Joe Biden welcoming Trump to the White House and former President Barack Obama sharing laughs with him at Jimmy Carter’s funeral. “We know why the rappers did what they did. They got paid. What’s the politicians’ excuse for normalizing Trump?” he questioned.

Charlamagne concluded by urging fans to hold politicians accountable with the same energy they direct at entertainers. “Nelly and Snoop don’t hold more weight than Biden and Obama.”
