Chance the Rapper became the first unsigned rapper to perform on SNL when he performed on NBC’s Saturday Night Live on Dec. 12, 11:30 pm EST— the first time an unsigned artist performed on the ‘SNL‘ stage in 40 years.
When Chance performed on SNL for the first time, he debuted a then unreleased “Somewhere in Paradise” featuring Jeremih and R. Kelly, who didn’t attend the show. He also released the Social Experiment track “Sunday Candy”.
Days before hitting the stage, Chance the Rapper uploaded an “independent promo” to his Instagram on Friday which featured SNL‘s host for the week, Chris Hemsworth.
