Dipset icon promises untold stories, music history, and lessons from a legendary career
Cam’ron is officially adding “author” to his résumé after landing a $750,000 book deal with publishing giant Simon & Schuster. The Harlem rap legend confirmed that his upcoming memoir is already in the works, with a tentative release date set for February 2026.
In a statement about the project, Cam’ron shared:
“I’m happy to have this deal done. Hopefully the book will be released February of 2026 and that everyone can take something from my memoir when they read it.”
The book — which has yet to be titled — will chart Killa Cam’s meteoric rise in Hip Hop, his role as a founding member of The Diplomats (Dipset), and his recent evolution into a popular sports media personality with his talk show It Is What It Is. Fans can also expect behind-the-scenes stories from some of the most iconic and controversial moments of his career.
Cam’ron has recently been vocal about his songwriting contributions in the music industry, revealing that he originally wrote his classic “I Really Mean It” for Lil’ Kim — who turned it down.
“That’s one of my biggest records… I’m happy she didn’t want the song,” he said.
He also claimed credit for penning 3LW’s 2000 debut hit “No More (Baby I’ma Do Right),” telling fans:
“That’s me. I penned that joint.”
Meanwhile, former Dipset collaborator Jim Jones has thrown his own hat in the ring, claiming that he ghostwrote on “every one” of Cam’s albums — an assertion that adds more tension to their ongoing feud.
As anticipation builds, Cam’s memoir promises to be a must-read for Hip Hop fans, revealing not just the glitz and grime of the rap game, but also the personal evolution of one of Harlem’s most influential voices.
