50 Cent Tops Streaming Charts in 2024, Surpassing JAY-Z, Nicki Minaj, and Cardi B

Published January 28, 2025 by

Despite not releasing an album in over a decade, 50 Cent still reigns supreme in New York rap streams

50 Cent is proving that his influence in hip hop remains strong, even without a new album in over a decade. In 2024, the rap mogul was named the most-streamed rapper from New York, accumulating a staggering 1.89 billion streams on YouTube. This impressive feat outpaced NYC icons such as JAY-Z, Nicki Minaj, and Cardi B.

Celebrating the achievement, 50 took to Instagram to share screenshots of his streaming numbers, writing, “I told you I run New York in 05, Nothing has changed! LOL Don’t believe me check the numbers.”

Over the past 12 months (January 21, 2024, to January 21, 2025), Nicki Minaj followed closely behind with 1.43 billion streams, while Cardi B garnered 921 million, and JAY-Z pulled in 721 million. Other hip-hop legends such as Pop Smoke, A$AP Rocky, Biggie, and Nas also made impressive appearances on the streaming charts.

While still dominating music, 50 Cent is enjoying a successful Hollywood run. His production of Den of Thieves 2: Pantera topped the box office in its opening weekend, and he’s even being considered to host this year’s Emmy Awards, a role that has sparked interest from actor DeRay Davis. 50’s 2025 is starting strong, and fans are eager to see what’s next.
