Lil Tjay has publicly denied any involvement in the Bronx drive-by shooting that targeted Kick streamer Konvy while he was livestreaming from a car in New York City, after social media speculation attempted to link the Bronx rapper to the incident. According to AllHipHop, the shooting occurred during Konvy’s January 9 livestream in the Bronx, where gunfire erupted on camera and sent the streamer and his friends scrambling for safety.[1][3]
In a statement shared on social media, Lil Tjay said he had “nothing to do with what happened last night in the Bronx,” addressing accusations that he was connected to the shooting that disrupted Konvy’s stream.[1] AllHipHop reports that blogs and social media users circulated alleged screenshots of Instagram Story posts from Tjay’s main account and a supposed burner account, which some interpreted as mocking the incident.[1] HotNewHipHop likewise notes that Lil Tjay allegedly posted crying-laughing emojis and a “hush” emoji on his Story, along with a separate clip captioned “Go slideeeeee” on an alleged burner account, though none of the posts explicitly referenced the shooting and their authenticity remains unverified.[2] Lil Tjay called the circulating content “old posts” taken out of context and labeled the narratives around them as misinformation.[1]
The livestream shooting itself has drawn widespread attention across rap and streaming communities. Video from the broadcast shows Konvy and two friends talking in a parked car when a green dot appears on Konvy’s head, moments before shots are fired and the stream abruptly cuts.[1][3] AllHipHop reports that one of Konvy’s companions, identified as JJ, was reportedly hospitalized following the incident.[1][3] Adin Ross, a close friend and collaborator of Konvy, later confirmed on his own stream that the shooting was real and that JJ was in the hospital, stressing that the incident was not scripted.[3][4] At press time, police have not publicly named any suspects, and no official law-enforcement statements have tied Lil Tjay—or any other artist—to the shooting.[1][2][3]
The speculation around Lil Tjay’s alleged reaction is partly rooted in his ongoing tension with streamers Adin Ross and Cuffem, who are close to Konvy. HotNewHipHop points out that the friction escalated after 6ix9ine, Adin Ross, and Cuffem dropped their diss track “BACON,” which takes aim at multiple rappers including Lil Tjay.[2] AllHipHop adds that this existing feud fueled social media narratives attempting to connect Tjay to the Bronx incident despite a lack of confirmed evidence.[1] As of now, the situation underscores how quickly viral clips, fandom rivalries, and alleged screenshots can shape public perception, even in the absence of official findings. Lil Tjay has urged fans and blogs to “stop spreading misinformation,” while the streaming and rap communities await further updates on JJ’s condition and any developments in the ongoing investigation.[1][3]
