R.A. The Rugged Man was originally in the group Crustified Dibbs with his friend and producer Marc Niles.

R.A. The Rugged Man started his career in 1992, at the age of 18, when he signed to Jive Records. Getting off to a bad start, his debut 1994 album ‘Night of the Bloody Apes’ (name inspired by the Mexican horror film) under the alias Crustified Dibbs, was shelved and never released. Crustified Dibbs was a group consisting of R.A. The Rugged Man and his friend and producer Marc Niles (then known as Nigga Niles). He would later change his name and just be known as R.A. the Rugged Man. He didn’t release a debut solo album till 2004 when he released ‘Die, Rugged Man, Die’.

R.A. the Rugged Man has worked with the Notorious B.I.G. and Jedi Mind Tricks.
