Kanye West made Pusha T re-write his “Runaway” verse—off Ye’s fifth album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy—four times while they were in Hawaii recording. The 2010 song was produced by Kanye himself and he pushed Pusha T to make his lyrics sound “more douchebag,” not knowing Pusha was going through a rough relationship patch at the time.

“He’s the most meticulous individual ever. I’ve never penned so many verses for one particular record. ‘So Appalled’? That’s a one-take verse. He was like, ‘Go, please. I love this. Thank you, goodbye.’” Pusha T told Complex.
