Jahsee Music was born Jesse James Childs on May 7, 1982, in Monterey, CA. He’s a rapper, producer, and songwriter based in Los Angeles. He’s the founder of the Afromerican Project and Vybe Merchant Productions. His debut EP COA$T$ dropped in May of 2020.
Jahsee got his start in 2006 in Chicago where he got the chance to rap on stage with Method Man while a college student at the University of Chicago. He also performed with the Alikes and The Reminders while living in Chicago and worked with Nez and Rio.
He performed with Add-2 and K-Flay at Middlebury College in 2007. He later moved back to California, working in youth arts education in Oakland, then Pittsburgh, PA for a year, and ultimately LA. He’s multiracial with a combination of African American, Native American, and European ancestry.
