The black BMW 750iL that Tupac Shakur was riding in when he was fatally shot in Las Vegas is back on the market, with a current asking price of $1.75 million at Celebrity Cars Las Vegas, positioning the vehicle as one of the most controversial and expensive pieces of Hip-Hop memorabilia to ever hit the showroom floor.[4][5][7] The 1996 BMW, originally leased by Death Row Records and driven by label co-founder Marion “Suge” Knight on the night of the attack, is being promoted as a fully restored artifact from the events surrounding Shakur’s September 7, 1996 shooting near the Las Vegas Strip.[4][5]

According to Celebrity Cars Las Vegas, this is the same BMW 750iL that carried Shakur in the passenger seat when a white Cadillac pulled alongside the vehicle at a red light on East Flamingo Road and Koval Lane and opened fire, striking the rapper four times.[4][5] Shakur was 25 years old and died six days later from his injuries at University Medical Center in Las Vegas, a timeline consistently documented in multiple reports.[2][4] The dealership notes that the sedan has been “completely restored” to its pre-shooting condition, with a fresh coat of black paint and repairs to the original bullet damage, aside from a subtle exterior indentation believed to line up with one of the impact points.[4][5] The odometer reportedly shows just over 121,000 miles, reflecting years of use by several owners after the car was released from impound and sold at auction.[2][5]

Celebrity Cars first listed the vehicle for sale at around $1.5 million in 2017 and later raised the price to $1.75 million, citing its cultural and historical significance.[4][7] General manager Ryan Hamilton told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the car has drawn intense public curiosity, with visitors asking about everything from alleged hauntings to the specifics of its authentication.[4] Documentation from BMW Las Vegas reportedly helped verify the car’s identity for a previous owner before it was acquired by Celebrity Cars in 2017.[4] Outlets including Revolt and local Las Vegas media have highlighted the listing as part of the ongoing fascination with artifacts tied to one of rap’s most studied homicide cases.[4][7]

The car’s renewed attention lands amid continued interest in the unsolved circumstances of Tupac Shakur’s murder and the broader mythology surrounding his death. In recent years, Las Vegas authorities have revisited aspects of the case, including executing a search warrant in Henderson, Nevada, in connection with evidence allegedly tied to Shakur’s 1996 killing.[4] While the investigation remains officially unresolved, the seven-figure BMW has become a tangible, if uneasy, symbol of that night—sitting on a raised platform among other high-end classics, more museum piece than daily driver, and underscoring how moments of Hip-Hop tragedy are increasingly being converted into high-priced collectibles.[4][7]
