Todd Shaw aka Too Short was born on April 28 in 1966. The Oakland rapper is a legend, having rapped for at least four decades. He was born in Los Angeles but got his start selling homemade tapes out of his trunk in his Sobrante Park neighborhood and around Oakland. His movement grew into influencing generations of rappers- from Snoop Dogg to Snow Tha Product.
Short’s known for his funky sound and pimped-out lyrics. He’s worked with Jay-Z, Tupac, Lil John, Lupe Fiasco, and others. In addition to rap, he’s helped start a youth center in East Oakland called Youth UpRising!
